Privacy Policy

This page explains what information Cast.biz (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit the site at cast.biz, why we collect it, who else may receive it, and what you can do about it. If you have questions after reading this, email [email protected].

1. Information you give us

The only information you actively send us is what you write into emails. If you contact us at [email protected], we keep your message and reply for as long as needed to handle the request, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case the conversation continues. Cast.biz does not host an account system, a comments section, or a contact form.

2. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, Cast.biz logs basic technical information when a page loads. This typically includes:

  • The pages you visited and roughly how long you spent on them.
  • The page that linked you to us (the “referrer”).
  • Your browser type and version, operating system, and screen size.
  • Your approximate location, derived from your IP address (typically country and region).
  • The IP address itself, used briefly for security and abuse prevention.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

Cast.biz uses cookies and comparable storage technologies (for example, local storage) for three purposes: to make the site function, to understand how it is used, and to fund it through advertising. A separate cookie policy describes the categories in detail and explains how to opt out of categories you do not want.

4. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-2SQTKWC3YN) to understand which pages are read, which links are followed, and how many readers return. Google Analytics processes the data described in section 2 and stores it on Google's servers. We have configured analytics with IP anonymisation where supported and we do not link analytics events to identifiable individuals.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking on every site you visit by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Advertising and Google AdSense

Cast.biz is supported by display advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, may serve ads on this site.

  • Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on Cast.biz.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings.
  • You may opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info or, in the EU, YourOnlineChoices.

Where required by law (for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), we ask for consent before personalised advertising cookies are set, and we honour that choice.

Google's own description of how it handles data on partner sites is published in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and Google's advertising policies are listed at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

6. Other third-party services

Aside from Google Analytics and Google's advertising network, Cast.biz does not embed third-party social media widgets, video players, or comment systems on its pages. If we add a service that processes personal data, we will update this policy.

7. How we use the information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate the site and keep it working reliably.
  • Investigate technical errors and abuse.
  • Understand which content is useful so that we know what to expand or revise.
  • Show advertising and measure how it performs.
  • Reply to messages you send us.

8. Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share data only with the providers needed to run the site (currently Google, for analytics and advertising), and only to the extent they need it to deliver their service. We may also disclose information when required by law, when responding to lawful requests from public authorities, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Cast.biz or others.

9. Retention

Email correspondence is kept for as long as the matter is open and for a reasonable archival period afterwards. Server logs are typically retained for a short period and then rotated. Analytics data follows Google's retention settings (we use a 14-month default unless you have opted out of analytics entirely). Advertising-related data is governed by the policies of the relevant ad partners.

10. Your rights (GDPR – EU/EEA, UK, Switzerland)

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation and equivalent local laws give you the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to delete your data, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Ask us to restrict or object to certain kinds of processing, including direct marketing.
  • Ask for a copy of the data you provided to us in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] from the address you wrote from. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.

11. Your rights (CCPA / CPRA – California)

California residents have the right to know what categories of personal information are collected, the purposes for which they are used, and the categories of third parties with whom they are shared; the right to request deletion of personal information; the right to correct inaccurate information; and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. To exercise California rights, including a request to opt out of cross-context behavioural advertising, email [email protected] with “California request” in the subject line.

12. International transfers

Our service providers, including Google, may process data in countries outside your own, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on legal mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

13. Children

Cast.biz is a general-audience reference site and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that is the relevant threshold). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us so we can delete it.

14. Security

We use standard technical safeguards (HTTPS, restricted administrative access, software updates) to protect the site and the limited personal data it processes. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute protection.

15. Changes

We update this policy when our practices change or when the law requires it. The “Last reviewed” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the page when first published.

16. How to contact us about privacy

For any privacy question, write to [email protected]. Cast.biz is operated as an independent reference site; the operating entity, where required, is identified for the purposes of [Jurisdiction].
